Jim Gleason

Jim Gleason has over 30 years combined experience in the corporate, counseling, and consulting worlds. He has a thorough understanding of the demands placed on individuals, both personally and professionally, and how to help them effectively deal with those demands and navigate the waters of change. He works with individuals and businesses by helping them identify their strengths and resources as well as obstacles to achieving their goals, help them identify priorities and goals, and provide an accountability system to keep them on track.

With his broad range of experience, Jim has dealt with individuals and groups of people from virtually every walk of life. After graduating with a BS in Marketing from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University he began his career in sales with a large international computer company. He rapidly moved into sales management. Over the next several years Jim was in sales and management in the medical field, office supplies, and financial services industries. Jim then returned to graduate school and received a master’s degree in counseling from Butler University. He then entered the addictions field as a substance abuse counselor working with adolescents, adults, and families. After several years of clinical work he became the Executive Director of a 70-bed adolescent inpatient treatment facility.

Jim left the corporate world in 1992 when he began a successful private counseling practice. Because of his personal experience of being involved in corporate downsizing Jim included career consulting and outplacement work in his counseling practice and eventually took his practice into career consulting. Virtually everything Jim has done professionally has been working with people, as well as organizations, in going through the process of “Change.” In 2001 he took his experiences into executive and business coaching where he “works with his clients to successfully and effectively navigate change to achieve the results they desire.” As a franchise consultant he works with his clients to build a business model. This model includes their strengths, experiences, skills, as well as their goals for getting into their own business. He then matches his clients to franchise opportunities that fit that business model and coaches them through the research and due diligence process.

Jim is a Coach with The Resource Development Group, LLC, General Manager of FranNet of MidAmerica, a Certified Business Coach, the Executive Coach for the Hoosier Congressional Policy Leadership Series, a former board member of the Indiana CBMC, past Sunday School Superintendent, and board member of Eagle Creek Grace Brethren Church, a former board member of the Exchange Club of Speedway, is adjunct faculty of Indiana Wesleyan University, and past board member of Association of Career Management Professionals. Jim was also a regular contributing author to the Christian Professional Magazine.

Jim’s approach to working with people is from the servant leader perspective of his Christian faith. Through “building the person to build the business” he can help his client improve their lives both personally and professionally. Jim has been married for 29 years and has 2 adult daughters.
